Zi Sha Pottery Teacup and Saucer

Zisha (purple sand/clay) pottery is well known for its natural appearance and beauty. An unglazed purple sand clay pottery captures the colour, fragrance and flavour of the tea.

This teacup is shaped in a traditional tapering down to the bottom style with a flare out top to enhance your tea drinking experience. 

The purple clay (Zisha) comes from deep in the mountains near the city of Yixing, Jiangsu, China. This particular purple sand clay has a very porous quality after fired/baked and that’s why it is an excellent material to make teapots, teacups and other tea serving pieces from.
